Here at Software Base, our concept is a bit different compared with traditional online shops that deal in "physical" products, since our software products are all sold and distributed "electronically".
What does this mean?
In short, we have no physical products in stock that we ship to our customers - but rather, we have all our software products, entered as license keys in a large database that sends the actual software product in electronic form (ESD) to the recipient/customer (in the industry jargon called "Electronic Software Downloads"). It just means that we are able to send you all your purchased software products via e-mail. This email contains all the information you need to enjoy your software product.
Delivery step by step
After you have ordered and paid for a software product via Software Base, the following happens:
1. An email with a license key for the software product you have purchased will be sent to the email address you provided.
2. The same email also contains a download link you just have to click on, and you can then download to your computer the installation file for the software product (or the link will direct you to a secure page with the software manufacturer, where you then register your software/license key).
So the "only" thing you receive, and the only things you need to receive, is a license key and an installation file or website link for the software product(s) you have purchased.
NOTE - in some cases, the download link you receive is not for the download of an installation file to your computer, but is rather a link to an online service from the manufacturer of the software product - this online service helps you with the registration of your software before you can download installation file.
For example, you cannot download the installation files for "Microsoft Office" directly from Microsoft, but rather you must create a Microsoft account with some information such as your name, email, address, phone number, etc. You can then download the installation file directly from your Microsoft account - this is a reflection on that the various software manufacturers have slightly different approaches to installing software.
To make installation and registration of your software product as easy for you as possible, we have in many cases created installation guides and manuals that with thorough text and graphics show you how to quickly get started with your software. It is our foremost duty to make the purchase and installation of software products as easy as is at all possible for you - if you have any problems or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our support - we will respond as quickly as we can!
Is there a minimum order?
No, there are no software products that require you to order more than one. However, you should be aware that ordering software licenses in bulk or very large quantities may require a separate license agreement with our sales department, so that we can guarantee a specific delivery date.
Do I get a confirmation of my purchase?
Yes, as mentioned in item 1 above, we will always send an email within a few minutes containing a confirmation of your order.
Can you deliver outside United Kingdom (UK)?
Yes, we can in principle deliver to customers all over the world, since our distribution is "electronic" and via e-mail. We are, however, subject to a geographical limitation which stipulates that we are not permitted to distribute our software products outside the European Union or EEA (European Economic Area). It is therefore not possible to order software products from our shop if you reside outside the EU/EEA.
All orders from IP addresses outside the EU/EEA are denied. In addition, all payments via credit card or other payment methods are automatically denied if the credit card or payment method is registered outside the EU/EEA.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
In short answer is 'no'. We have no costs for shipping your order since everything is delivered "electronically" via e-mail. The only thing we require is that you fill in your email address correctly, you will shortly after your order receive all the necessary information about the ordered software product in your inbox.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The prices you see for our software products are the prices you pay upon ordering. We impose no fees for payment via credit card, PayPal, invoice, bank transfer or other payment methods.
Do I need to pay 20% VAT?
Under current European law, all domestic consumers in the European Union shall pay the VAT rate applicable in that member state from which the purchase is made. The VAT you pay for orders from our shop we settle with national authorities and loyally follow English law in this area.
Therefore, if you are a private customer, you will pay 20% on every purchase from our shop. All our prices include VAT, so you can clearly see what the product costs for you as a private customer.
If you are a business customer or company with a valid VAT number, you can place an order without VAT. It is important that you choose to place the order as a company upon your purchase from us, and that you provide your company's correct VAT number - please note that we check all orders made this way, and that we reserve the right to reject orders that indicate abuse or fraud.
Who keeps my payment information?
Your transaction is between you and the secure payment option with which you pay, for example VISA or PayPal. We will never store your information, disclose it to any third parties, and we will not contact you unless you contact us with a question. Your credit card information is not kept or stored by any third party.
The only thing Software Base stores is basic information about your order on our secure server. This includes your name, email address (to be able to provide support or assistance with your inquiries), ordered license key (so that we can resend your order to you if you lose your data) and the installation files for your software product.
No third party has access to this information and they will be saved in our encrypted database. If you do not want us to store this basic information in our database, then you just need to contact us in writing and ask to have it deleted - we will confirm the deletion of your data in writing.
